About

Slovene Tibet Support Group is a voluntary, non-profitable and independent organization, which is striving especially for the establishment of the political autonomy of the Tibetan nation and protection of the human rights and fundamental freedoms of the Tibetans and is trying to bring awareness to the public regarding the mentioned issues.

In Slovenia the first “Tibet support group” was founded at the end of year 1996. In 2007 it renamed itself to Charity Association Tibet and started dealing with humanitarian activities. This association is not connected with our association.

In the summer of 2008 the People’s Republic of China organised the Summer Olympics. Since at that time there was no “classic” Tibet support group a few of the protests in support of the Tibetans were organised by Zavod Dharmaling, which later renamed to Zavod MIR and is now dealing with other activities.

That’s why at the end of 2008 we founded the Tibet Support Group, which is now the only such association in Slovenia.
